The newly-renovated Bayou Pointe Event Center features ballrooms, banquet halls, a small theater with a reception area, and and outdoor patio and deck.

Flavors of the Bayou: The Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of the Bayou Pointe Event Center is March 16 at 7 p.m.

The Bayou Pointe Event Center is a newly renovated facility overlooking the bayou on the ULM campus. The building was formerly the Oxford Natatorium, which was built in 1978. The natatorium hosted served ULM over the course of 30 years before falling into disuse. In the fall of 2015, a budget of $7 million was approved to renovate the building into a student event center. This initiative was put in motion through the work of the ULM Student Government Association and ULM students.

The event center now features a banquet hall entitled Cypress Hall, which can seat 450 people, or be split into two separate halls. This room sits above what was formerly the swimming pool. The building also has a small theater which seats up to 83 people. Connected to the side is a reception area. The event center is already scheduling book-signings and other lecture events for this area.

More information about the Bayou Pointe Event Center is available here or on the Bayou Pointe Student Event Center Facebook page. Tickets for Flavors of the Bayou are available here.
