Monroe's RiverMarket hosts the Blues, Brews, and BBQ event on November 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The venue showcases the surrounding area’s variety of artisan handmade items, produce, LA products, food, and talent in a “town square” setting.
The event features live blues music throughout the day, a Rib Cook Off, and tastings from local home brewers.
The Rib Cook Off begins the day at 7:30 a.m. with check-ins and meat inspections. By 8 a.m., participants will have their grills fired up! The event will end at 1 p.m. The winner of the cook off will go home with a $250 cash prize!
Food trucks will have food for purchase, including turkey legs, pulled pork sandwiches and loaded nachos, as well as hamburger combos, chicken sandwich combos, ham and cheese sandwich combos and a five-piece wing combo.
The band Pocket Kandy will perform from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. From 1:30 to 4 p.m. the event features the Hands On! Band.
Blues, Brews, and BBQ will also feature beer tastings from 1 to 4 p.m., including samples from Stephen Jester, Karari Hanks and Choice Brands. Tickets will be available for beer tastings. Those tasting must be 21 years old and above to attend the homebrew tastings.
“We are excited to bring some new aspects to our Blues, Brews and BQQ event,” said RiverMarket Coordinator Randee Jo Langley. “Not only have we added a BBQ cook off, but we are also having a Fire Department cook off that you won’t want to miss. Come out and enjoy the fun!”
