Local artists craft bowls for fundraiser

The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana is hosting their 3nd annual Empty Bowls fundraiser Saturday, January 26. The event runs from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Hub, 201 Washington Street in Monroe. Many local restaurants will be serving their signature dishes, accompanied by music, activities for people of all ages, and a silent auction. An all inclusive ticket is $40, that features a hand-crafted bowl that was made by a local artist. A $20 ticket is for those who would only like to enjoy the activities. The $10 tickets are for kids ages 6 to 12, who will have many activities just for them, like face painting.

For many in our community, bowls are always empty. Help fill those bowls this holiday season by attending the event or by donating. Every $10 provides 55 meals. Raising awareness is how we tackle hunger across our community. Empty Bowls is a way to raise critical funds that the hungry in our area need.

Tickets are available at www.foodbanknela.org.
