SOS Pets of Ouachita and Flying Tiger Brewery are teaming up to host Raise the Woof 2019! at the Flying Tiger Brewery on 506 N. 2nd St, Monroe. Raise the Woof was created to help raise money for a new Monroe animal shelter that can accomodate a higher number of animals. The event will be on Thursday, Oct. 24, and last from 6pm - 10pm.

There are no age restrictions until 8pm. During this time, guests that are under 21 get in free. After 8 pm, the minimum age to get into the event will be 21. Tickets are $15 per guest 21 and over.

Raise the Woof is the first event of its kind to come to Monroe. It is not only a fundraiser for animals in the area, but also incorporates them in the night of fun. First, there will be a Halloween costume contest for dogs and their humans, so guests are encouraged to bring their furry friends. There will also be more fun activities that include a dog kissing booth photo op, pet stuff for sale, and a group photo for all dogs present.

There will be entertainment before and during the fundraiser for humans as well. From 5pm - 6pm, the Half Moon Yoga Studio will lead a warm-up yoga session that owners can do with their dogs. Later, Ashton Brooke Gill, a former contestant on American Idol, will be performing a concert for the guests in attendance.

Again, all proceeds from this event will go towards the new animal shelter that will be built in Monroe. $1.8 million is a daunting task, but events like Raise the Woof go a long way in helping the dreams of a new facility become a reality.
