With impeachment proceedings underway in D.C., misinformation and questions have been circulating around the country. The University of Louisiana at Monroe Political Science Department will host a seminar, "Impeachment 1001," to teach about the process and answer questions from guests.

ULM President Dr. Nick Bruno approached political science professors about hosting a class on the impeachment process for the community. Dr. Jessica Schofield, one of ULM's Political Science professors, thought this was a great idea.

She says, "Today, people feel like it is hard to get neutral, unbiased information about the political process, so our main goal is to educate the public about what this impeachment hearing involves, what the process is going be, and talk about some of the factual information behind it all."

Dr. Schofield will be joined by other Political Science professors including Dr. Joshua Stockely, Dr. Patrick Exmeyer, and Robert Noel, J.D., who will serve as the panel for the seminar on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The topics that will be covered are a history of impeachment, its complicated process, the current hearings for Donald Trump, and a time for questions.

The event will be held on the second floor of ULM's Student Union Building in the Hangar at 6 p.m. Admission is free for all guests and no RSVP is required.
