90.3 KEDM Public Radio, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, and the University of Louisiana at Monroe Student Government Association will host two in-person Candidate Forums at “The Terrace” 7th Floor Conference Center at ULM.
- The Louisiana Governor Candidate Forum will take place Tuesday, August 29 at 6 p.m.
- The Louisiana House and Senate Candidate Forums will take place Tuesday, September 5 at 6 p.m. for House and Senate districts that include Ouachita Parish.
The Candidate Forums are an opportunity for residents, as well as business and community leaders to learn more about the candidates. Forums will be broadcast LIVE on 90.3 KEDM Public Radio, KEDM.org, and Facebook Live; and archived at KEDM.org and the KEDM YouTube channel.
The election will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023. The deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is September 13, or online September 23, 2023. Early voting takes place September 30 and October 2-7, 2023.
Candidates in contested races who have qualified for the upcoming election have been invited to attend the forum pertaining to their office. Each candidate will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves to the audience. In addition, candidates will be asked questions by the forums’ moderator, Cory Crowe of 90.3 KEDM Public Radio. Finally, each candidate will have the opportunity to make brief closing remarks.
