Annual Champagne Stroll to be held in Downtown West Monroe

The Downtown Merchants Association will be holding its annual Champagne Stroll this Thursday, November 16 from 5 to 8p.m. throughout Antique Alley in Downtown West Monroe. The event is free to attend and there will be approximately 30 different merchants open to customers.

Shops will be providing free champagne to shoppers as well as cider, punch, and other refreshments. Christmas lights will be set up for customers to enjoy as well.

The Champagne Stroll is an annual event started nearly 10 years ago by the Downtown Merchants Association and local shops and vendors. Shoppers are provided with free champagne as well as other food and drinks as they go through the shops in the area. This event is always held on the Thursday before Thanksgiving.

DMA President and owner of West Monroe Spice and Tea Exchange Karen Laban believes this is because it schedules well with the holidays. "We find it's a great time to kick off the shopping season downtown. People are starting to come in for family and to visit home for the holidays." says Laban, "It's always a perfect evening to come out, shop, stroll the alley, have a bit of champagne, and just enjoy a late night shopping event."
