Mardi Gras activities roll through downtown West Monroe

The annual Krewe of Janus Mardi gras parade is set to roll through the Twin Cities on Saturday, February 3.

The day starts early with the Krewe of Paws pet parade at 1 p.m. The parade features animals in costume and mini floats rolling down West Monroe's Trenton Street. The registration and PAWS festivities begin at 11 a.m. in the grass lot at Wood and Commerce Streets.

At 2:30 the Jester Jog Color 5K will run part of the parade rout through downtown West Monroe. The first 250 finishers will get special beads and drink tokens. The proceeds will benefit Downtown West Monroe Revitalization Group.

The main event is the Krewe of Janus Parade at 6 p.m. The parade will roll on its traditional route through West Monroe and Monroe rain or shine.
