On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a critical incident/active shooter exercise at Sterlington High School. The training will be a joint exercise involving OPSO, Sterlington PD, Ouachita Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance Service, Ouachita 911, LSU Ochsner Hospital and St. Francis Hospital.

Again, this is a training exercise only. Residents will notice a heavy presence of Law Enforcement and First Responders beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. that day and lasting several hours. All public roadways will remain open to traffic. No students will be present at the school as it is an in-service date for faculty training.
