Policy & A Pint - (In 3D) The Downtown Development Discussion

KEDM's Policy & A Pint returns on Tuesday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. at Flying Tiger Brewery for a "Downtown Development Discussion." The open public forum will discuss downtown Monroe and upcoming projects, nightlife, job creation, and upgrades.

KEDM News and Public Affairs Director Cory Crowe will moderate a panel of experts, including City of Monroe Chief Economic and Cultural Development Officer Kelsea McCrary, President and CEO of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce Roy Heatherly, and Owner of Head Mechanix Grooming Lounge Rico Holmes.

The live radio event will be held at Flying Tiger Brewery and Victory Pizza, 506 N. 2nd Street, Monroe, from 6 to 7 p.m. The event begins with a meet and greet with the panelists at 5:30 p.m. The event will be broadcast live on 90.3 KEDM Public Radio and streamed via Facebook.

"Downtown Monroe holds such a special place in the heart of our community," said KEDM General Manager Jay Curtis. "We’re giving members of the community a chance to voice their opinion on how downtown can grow and develop to serve a wider audience."

The “Policy and a Pint” series is designed to provide access to experts on community issues in an informal atmosphere. Previous forums have addressed advancements in public art, efforts towards historic preservation of local buildings and sites, and marijuana policy in Louisiana.
