OPSO Concealed Carry Training set for August 20 & 22

Louisiana laws concerning concealed carry have changed. The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office is offering a concealed carry training class over two nights, Aug 20 & 22. The class will train citizens on equipment, use of force, laws, the seven fundamentals of firearm, and the advantages of taking the class. Many states also offer reciprocal privileges.

Lt. Brad Tullos joins Cory Crowe on KEDM's Lagniappe to discuss the class.

The Concealed Carry Course is scheduled for 5pm – 8pm, Tuesday, August 20, 2024 and Thursday, August 22, 2024. For an initial certification the first night is classroom only and the second is for the firearms portion. NOTE: Renewals will complete both the classroom and firearms on Tuesday.

Fee Schedule:

One participant: $100.00

Renewal for one: $75.00

Active Military/National Guard with ID: $75.00

Family package: $150.00
**Family package is for two members only of immediate family: husband & wife, father & son or daughter, or mother and son or daughter living in the same household.

Payment may be made in advance or on the first night of class at the North Delta Training Academy. Payment is cash or check only. No debit or credit cards.

Participants will need a handgun and 36 rounds of ammunition.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
