Local musicians compete to represent the region at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis

The Ouachita River Blues Society (ORBS) will host the ORBS Blues Challenge Sunday, September 22 at 3 p.m. The event will be the first ORBS challenge to send winners to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. The event will feature numerous solo/duo acts and bands hoping to represent our area on an international stage. The International Blues Challenge represents the worldwide search for blues bands and solo/duo blues performers ready for the international stage, yet just needing that extra big break. The world’s largest gathering of blues musicians will take place on Beale Street, with over 20 clubs hosting the challengers and fans in January. Adrienne LaFrance-Wells, Doug Duffey, and Dan Sumner talk about the event and why keeping the blues alive is important with KEDM's Cory Crowe.

The event will be held at the Krewe of Janus building, Sunday, September 22 at 3 p.m.
