'Pulp Into Paper' dives into love, paper mills, and morals

Author Lenore Weiss joins Cory Crowe to talk about her latest book 'Pulp Into Paper' on KEDM's Lagniappe.

The novel explores a small south Arkansas paper mill town. The mill is polluting the town but it is also the smell of money. The story revolves around the plant safety manager Vernon. Vernon falls for a store owner named Rae-Ann. Both depend on the mill for their livelihood but the unclean air around the mill causes a young boy to die from an asthma attack. The EPA investigates and sides will have to be chosen between the town's income source and the health of their citizens.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
