New Christmas project supports children from hard places

The Center for Children & Families in Monroe, LA is gearing up for its annual Christmas Project, aiming to bring joy and essential items to over 1,000 children from difficult circumstances in the region. This community-driven initiative has been making a difference for over 23 years, providing gifts, winter clothing, food, and basic necessities to children in foster care and facing poverty.

The Center is calling on the community to get involved by sponsoring a child's wish list, donating toys or clothing, or making financial contributions. The impact of this project is significant, bringing hope and joy to children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or economic hardship.

There are several ways to get involved:

• Sponsor a Child’s Wish List: Community members can sponsor a specific child, providing items such as a full outfit of clothing and a toy from the child’s Wishlist. The cost of sponsorship is typically between $100-$150 per child.

• Donate Toys or Clothing: The Center is accepting donations of new toys, clothing, and
other essentials. Items such as sports balls, dolls, board games, and gifts for teens (e.g.,
headphones, makeup, blankets) are especially needed. Donations must be received by
Wednesday, December 4th.

• Financial Contributions: Those unable to donate physical items can make a financial
donation by texting “STANDFORHOPE” to 53555 or visiting
www.standforhope.org/give. Every donation helps bring joy to a child during the holiday season.
