City of Monroe opens Warming Station

(Monroe, LA) - In response to the approaching cold weather forecasted for the upcoming week, the City of Monroe has announced the opening of a Warming Station at the Liller Marbles Community Center, located at 2950 Renwick Street.

The warming station will provide a refuge for locals in need and will be operational from 2 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, until Saturday, January 11, 2025, coinciding with the expected rise in temperatures.

Equipped with cots and Meals Ready-to-Eat (MREs), the facility aims to offer a safe space for individuals seeking shelter from the harsh weather conditions.

It is important to note that the Warming Station is not equipped to accommodate individuals with special medical needs. Visitors to the facility are required to be ambulatory and able to care for themselves.
