Winter Storm Warning Now in Effect for Northeast Texas, Extreme Southeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas

•  Winter Storm Warning is now in effect from 6 AM Thursday to 12 PM Friday for Northeast Texas, McCurtain County Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas.
• A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Thursday morning through midday Friday for the I-20 counties of East Texas and parishes in North Louisiana along the Arkansas border.
• Areas of mixed precipitation will increase from west to east during the day Thursday, becoming widespread across the region Thursday night before diminishing during the day Friday.
• Significant snow and ice accumulations are possible across the Winter Storm Warning area, with snowfall accumulations of 2-6+ inches expected, and icing accumulations up to one-half inch.
• Heavy snow and icing accumulations may result in downed trees and power lines, resulting in power outages. Ice accumulations on bridges and overpasses as well as some roadways will make travel very difficult.
• Icing impacts are also possible late Thursday afternoon through Friday morning along and south of the I-20 corridor of East Texas and North Louisiana, but accumulations should remain below one-quarter inch and impact mainly bridges and overpasses, with light icing of trees and power lines as well.
