MONROE, La. -- ULM football head coach Bryant Vincent announced two additions to the team's coaching staff on Wednesday (Jan. 22), with Hindley Brigham and Kishawn McClain joining the program as assistant coaches for the 2025 season.
Brigham was added as the Running Backs Coach and Run Game Coordinator while McClain will serve as the Wide Receivers Coach.
Brigham arrives in Monroe after spending nine seasons as the running backs coach at UAB and coached the top three running backs in UAB football history including Spencer Brown, DeWayne McBride and Jermaine Brown Jr. Alongside Coach Vincent, who was the team's offensive coordinator, Brigham mentored all three running backs to total over 3,000 career rushing yards.
In 2022, the Blazers finished eighth nationally in rushing offense and averaged 235.6 rushing yards per game. McBride led the nation in rushing and garnered five All-America honors as well as named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year. After his first season as running backs coach in 2017, Brown was named an FWAA Freshman All-American and the CUSA Freshman of the Year. Brigham was on the coaching staff that helped the Blazers capture the CUSA Championship in 2018 and 2020.
Brigham was named UAB's running backs coach in 2017 after spending the previous year as an offensive analyst for the Blazers. He was a running backs coach at Mountain Brook High School, his alma mater, for the 2012 season. Brigham was a middle school language arts teacher and basketball coach at Cornerstone Schools of Alabama. He helped launch the Birmingham Southern football program and was a coach during its inaugural season in 2007.
Before his coaching career, Brigham was a running back at Baylor and was named a Second-Team Academic All-Big 12 performer following his sophomore season. After two seasons in Waco, Brigham transferred to Furman where he led the team in rushing in both 2002 and 2003. He was named Second Team All-Southern Conference following 1,042 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
McClain joins the ULM football staff after one season at East Tennessee State University as the team's pass game coordinator/wide receivers /returners coach. ETSU's leading receiver AJ Johnson was named All-Southern Conference First Team after recording 40 receptions, 662 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Johnson's 662 receiving yards were the second-most by an ETSU receiver since 2015 and his six touchdowns were the most by a Buccaneer receiver since 2002.
Before his time in Johnson City, McClain spent the 2023 season at Gardner-Webb as the team's passing game coordinator / wide receivers coach.
