90.3 KEDM will be operating at reduced power for the next few days as crews work on a major antenna project. The tower facility north of Monroe will be made ready for a multi-station combined antenna.
Tower crews will strip the old KEDM and KXUL antennas from the 1,000-foot tower and replace it with a state-of-the-art combined antenna system. Multiple Monroe area stations will broadcast from the upgraded facility.
KEDM General Manager Jay Curtis explained, "We hope listeners and donors will bear with us during this transition, and we're grateful for the local support that allows KEDM to maintain its coverage area across northeast Louisiana and southeast Arkansas."
The project has been three years in the making and the work could last up to two weeks. New technology allows the combined antenna to feature the same coverage area as the one that's being replaced, with no interference from the other stations.
In the meantime, programming is always available online at KEDM.org, KXUL.com, and other streaming platforms including Google and Amazon Alexa smart speaker devices.
