West Monroe recycling trailer to be in downtown West Monroe weekly

West Monroe Recycling Center
West Monroe Recycling Center

The brand-new mobile recycling trailer is made possible through an EPA "SWIFR" grant awarded last year to the City of West Monroe. The grant was awarded to the city for the expansion of recycling services in the community.

This service is available to the general public. Anyone is welcome to drop off allowable recyclable materials at the mobile trailer. Those recyclable materials that will be collected are:
• Cardboard
• Plastic water bottles (Plastic #1)
• Aluminum Cans
• Glass bottles and jars (please remove the lids)

The mobile trailer will be located in downtown West Monroe every Thursday, beginning this Thursday, January 30 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The trailer will be located at the public parking lot at the corner of Trenton and Wood Streets (near the metal flower sculpture). The trailer will be in other West Monroe locations and special events throughout the year. Follow the West Monroe Recycling Center on Facebook for information on additional locations.

Recyclable items can still be dropped off at the West Monroe Recycling Center, located behind the West Monroe Police Department. Items may be dropped off Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

For more information about the recycling trailer, contact West Monroe City Hall at (318) 396-2600 or email mayorsoffice@westmonroe.la.gov
