The exhibition on view will be February 20th - May 3, 2025. The public reception will be on Thursday, February 20th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The Juror's talk will be at 6:30 p.m. that following day.
The juror of this event is Annemarie Sawkins. The Annual Juried Competition is also a chance to exhibit some of the United States’ best curatorial talent. This year, the Masur Museum is excited to have Annemarie Sawkins judge the submitted artworks and select the cash award winners.
Annemarie Sawkins, PhD, is a Milwaukee-based independent curator, who has curated several exhibitions for the Masur Museum of Art including Kogyo: Japanese Woodblock Prints (2022), Treasures of Art Nouveau (2019), and Afghan War Rugs: The Modern Art of Central Asia (2018). A frequent juror and portfolio reviewer, Annemarie Sawkins earned an MA and PhD in Art/Architectural History from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
The Masur Museum of Art is the largest collecting and exhibiting institution of modern and contemporary art in Northeast Louisiana. The Masur Museum of Art is a division of the City of Monroe’s Department of Community Affairs. Exhibitions and educational programs are funded by the Twin City Art Foundation.
