West Monroe, LA - Ouachita Green is excited to announce the annual Household Hazardous Waste Event on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center, located at 501 Mane Street, West Monroe.
We extend our gratitude to our generous sponsors: Humana Healthy Living in Louisiana, Ouachita Parish Police Jury, City of West Monroe, City of Monroe, Keep Louisiana Beautiful, Advancion, Monroe Garden Club, and Daniel Appliance.
Accepted Items: Participants can bring up to 10 gallons of latex or oil-based paint, stains, antifreeze, household chemicals, motor oil, pesticides, bulbs, fire extinguishers, electronics, medicines, batteries, and pool chemicals. We will be recycling cell phones, computers, monitors, TVs, printers, clothing, household items, paper, plastics (1 & 2), cardboard, metal, white goods, scrap metal, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, appliances, and glass.

Personal sharps in accepted containers will be accepted. Shredding services will be provided for up to 3 boxes per household. We will also accept up to 5 personal vehicle tires with rims, clothing, and furniture (excluding mattresses). No business waste will be accepted.
Why Attend: This event aims to keep hazardous waste and recyclable materials out of our landfills, protecting our homes, soil, and water from potential harm. It helps prevent illegal dumping, keeps our ditches clean to reduce flooding, and educates the community on proper handling of hazardous and recyclable materials.
How to Participate: The event is a free drive-through service open to all households in Ouachita Parish. No business waste will be accepted. Donations are appreciated. The event will take place on the left side parking lot of the Ike Hamilton Expo Center, with the line starting on Pavilion Road, West Monroe, LA.
