OPSO investigating hit and run incident

Around 9:45 a.m., OPSO deputies were called to the scene of a hit-and-run occurrence at the specified address. According to the follow-up inquiry, David Esquivel purposefully hit his roommate who was sitting on his bicycle while driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe.

The event was caused by an argument between Esquivel and the victim that had occurred the night before, according to investigators. The victim sustained critical injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

David Esquivel has been arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder. He is currently being held at the Ouachita Correctional Center.

This is an ongoing investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
