Residents are urged to prepare for an arctic front moving into north Louisiana today. A hard freeze is expected early this evening through Thursday morning.
Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director Kevin Davis says precautions should be taken in advance of the cold snap. "Make sure pets and plants are protected from the weather, cover or wrap exposed pipes to insulate from sub-freezing temperatures" Davis said.
No major impacts are expected from the freezing conditions, but Davis reminds the public to monitor local media and the National Weather Service for any watches or warnings.
