Roux Radio 10/9

This week on Roux Radio, an innovative partnership between the Indianapolis Zoo and The Nature Conservancy, the constitutional amendments on the ballot this fall, and the search for gravitational waves.

The Nature Conservancy in Louisiana and the Indianapolis Zoo are teaming up to draw attention to the Gulf of Mexico’s Dead Zone. But what exactly is the Dead Zone? Nick Janzen has the answer.

Four constitutional amendments are on the ballot this October24th. Ann MarieAwadtalks to Robert Travis Scott, president of the Public Affairs Research Council, which has just released its voters’ guide to the amendments.

Almost 100 years ago, Einstein theorized the existence of gravitational waves, but they’ve never been observed. A group of scientists in Livingston Parish are trying to change that. Nick Janzen has that story.

The LSU Ag Center recently declared the purple verbena a Louisiana super plant. Dan Gill has more on Bayou Garden.

And Sue Lincoln examines how the candidates for governor would combat poverty if elected, as part of Capitol Access’ look into the 2015 gubernatorial election.
