The state wildlife agent who was shot five times last month in Morehouse Parish is scheduled to be released from a Shreveport hospital. 25–year- old Tyler Wheeler was shot after questioning a motorist.
Doctors have been calling Wheeler "the miracle patient" says Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries spokesperson Adam Einck , and is expected to make a full recovery. Wheeler’s father says doctors are pleased with his overall condition. Einck says that after being discharged Wheeler will rehabilitate in a facility in Mississippi.
Two Monroe residents remain in jail on charges of attempted first degree murder of a police officer and accessory after the fact in relation to Wheeler's shooting.
