FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Shreveport has expanded the
Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Louisiana and
northeast Texas, including the following areas, in Louisiana,
Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, De Soto,
Jackson, La Salle, Lincoln, Ouachita, Red River, Union, and
Webster. In northeast Texas, Panola.
Through Thursday evening
Heavy rainfall, associated with Tropical Storm Harvey located
along the upper Texas coast, will continue to occur within the
strong outer rain bands extending well north from the center of
Harvey. These heavy rain bands may train over the same areas,
increasing the likelihood of flash flooding across deep east
Texas and north Louisiana.
Flooding of roads, low lying and poor drainage areas will be
possible. If encountering flooded roadways, remember to turn
around, don't drown.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
