Mayor Jamie Mayo, the Monroe City Council, and Fire Chief Terry Williams announce our annual Fire Prevention Week is October 8-14, 2017.
This year’s theme is “Every Second Counts - Plan 2 Ways Out.”
The Monroe Fire Department has many events scheduled to promote fire prevention during this week including:
· School Readings (schedule attached)
· Fire Safety Talks with Seniors
· City-Wide Fire Drill at 9 am Wednesday, October 11
· Fire Safety Extravaganza at 11 am Thursday, October 12 – MFD Training Grounds 300 Forrest Avenue
· Annual 5k Walk/Run at 8am Saturday, October 14 – Forsythe Park
Registration for the 5k is free and can be done online by going to http://mfd5k2017.eventbrite.com or register on site the day of the race.
