Fats Domino

The world continues to react to the death of New Orleans legend Fats Domino, who died at the age of 89.  New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Producer Quint Davis was a long-time friend of Domino and says the global star never forgot his roots, which was reflected in his music.

Domino sold over 110 million records and was first inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Davis says Domino loved flashy clothes and shoes.  Even Davis was surprised at the wardrobe Domino carried about.

Davis says he knew the very public side of Domino and the very shy side and his preference to stay out of the spotlight.

Domino had 30 top 40 hits including 23 gold singles.  There is no word on any pending funeral arrangements.
