An elementary school in Shreveport will be closed Wednesday after a large number of student absences attributed to the flu and flu-like symptoms.
The Times reports Werner Park Academy will reopen on Thursday.
Meanwhile, officials say the custodial team will continue sanitation efforts to combat the spread of germs. Parents are also being asked to clean students' personal items, such as backpacks, jackets and lunchboxes before their children return to school.
In addition, officials say it's important that students do not return to school until they have been fever-free for a minimum of 24 hours.
