A Ruston man has been arrested and charged with seven counts of attempted second degree murder after purposely driving his vehicle into a crowd of people.
Early Saturday evening, Jason Rockett, 47, got into an altercation with several people at a residence in the North Village Mobile Park area in Ruston. Witnesses of the altercation say that Rockett backed out of the driveway and then drove forward, crashing into multiple people and hitting a residence. The suspect then fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Two people were transported to North Louisiana Regional Hospital and treated for minor, non-life threatening wounds.
