West Monroe High School was placed on lockdown at 10:30 this morning. The lockdown was lifted at 11:30 a.m.. Parents were notified by an automated phone call from West Monroe principal Shelby Ainsworth. A later message to parents said the lockdown was because two unauauthorized  men were on campus. The men claimed to be bounty hunters.

Chief Jeff Terrell of the West Monroe Police Department says both of the men were wearing holstered guns. Thirty officers from local agencies responded to the scene within minutes.

The two men have been arrested and are facing tresspassing and weapons charges.

Chief Terrell says each classroom was checked for threats and everyone is safe. Students can be checked out of school early today.
