The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections and State Police have launched an investigation at Louisiana State Penitentiary into an incident self reported to Department leaders by Warden Darrel Vannoy regarding certain Angola staff and department payroll administration rules.
Warden Vannoy has been placed on administrative leave, and the Department's Chief of Operations, Seth Smith will oversee the prison during the investigation. No more details will be available during the investigation.
