Alexandria, Va.- (February 15, 2024) -The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Shreveport Police Department are joining forces to ask for public assistance in unraveling the mysterious disappearance of David Yeager.

David, a 17-year-old resident of Shreveport, went missing from his home on Feb. 6, 1971. His last known whereabouts were recounted by his younger brother, who said David left the house located on Lola Lane on foot. David told his brother he was headed to Centenary College for a debate. He never returned.

Police are still trying to piece together what happened to the teenager that Saturday afternoon. Centenary College is located eight miles from David’s childhood home. His family believes David possibly met with someone and got a ride. It is unclear if David ever made it to the debate that day.

This February marks 53 years since David disappeared. Despite the passage of time, his case remains active, and the Shreveport Police Department urges anyone with information about David's whereabouts to come forward.

"The Shreveport Police Department acknowledges the invaluable support and collaboration of the public in the ongoing investigation of this case, “said Corporal Christopher Bordelon, Shreveport Police. “Together, we remain committed to seeking answers and bringing resolution to this matter, demonstrating the power of community partnership in the pursuit of justice.”

Angeline Hartmann, Director of Communications at NCMEC, said, “We urge the public to pay attention to the clues in this case. We know that even after decades, mysteries like this can be solved. You could be the one person that has that missing puzzle piece.”
