Qualifying procedures for March 29 municipal primary election

All local candidates must qualify with their parish Clerk of Court. Candidates may qualify for office by paying a qualifying fee or filing a nominating petition and are encouraged to check with their local Clerk of Court for specific parish hours. More information, including contact information for parish Clerk of Court Offices, can be found by visiting GeauxVote.com and selecting the Election Qualifying link. Once qualified, candidates will appear on the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.la.gov.

All candidates qualifying for Associate Justice from Louisiana Supreme Court District 3 and Court of Appeal, 1st Circuit, 2nd District, Subdistrict 2, Division D, will qualify at the Secretary of State’s Office at 8585 Archives Avenue in Baton Rouge. Hours of operation for the Secretary of State’s Office are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Once qualified, candidates will appear on the Secretary of State’s website in real-time on the home page at www.sos.la.gov.

Pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statutes 18:461 and 18:463, qualifying candidates will be required to provide an email address and present a valid Louisiana driver’s license or Louisiana identification card. The email address provided will be listed on the Secretary of State’s website.
