Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser as he welcomes and introduces a historical reenactment of Lafayette’s Address in celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the Marquis de Lafayette’s return to New Orleans to kick off French Quarter Fest from the NewOrleans.com Stage in Jackson Square.
General Lafayette – portrayed by renowned interpreter Mark Schneider of Colonial Williamsburg – will deliver a special address to the citizens of New Orleans on Saturday, April 12, at 10:15 A.M. A special performance of La Marseilles by The Storyville Stompers will follow.
This event is free and open to the public, sponsored by the American Friends of Lafayette and the Louisiana State Museum. Period attire is highly recommended.
