Officials urge extreme caution for drivers this morning, and advise motorists to stay off the roads except for emergencies. School authorities have closed schools across northeast Louisiana for Thursday, March 5, including:

- Monroe City Schools
- Ouachita Parish
- Caldwell Parish
- East Carroll Parish
- West Carroll Parish
- Madison Parish
- Jackson Parish
- Richland Parish
- Union Parish
- LaSalle Parish
- Louisiana Delta Community College
- University of Louisiana at Monroe
- Northeast Baptist School
- River Oaks School
- D'Arbonne Woods Charter School
- Union Christian Academy
- Delhi Charter School
- Briarfield Academy
- Learning Tech/Quest School
- Sylvan Learning Center
- Donwsville Charter School
The following organizations have also announced closures for Thursday:

- West Ouachita Senior Center
- Monroe City Government

Monroe Regional Airport has cancelled all inbound flights until 10:30 a.m.
State offices in Jackson, Grant, LaSalle and West Carroll parishes closed.
