SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A northwest Louisiana school board member, a fourth-grade teacher and the teacher's husband face federal steroids charges.
Bossier Parish school board member Michael Mosura was indicted in September along with Caddo Parish teacher Julie Landry and Brant Landry.
The indictment, unsealed last week, alleges the three conspired to sell illegal performance-enhancing drugs at gyms.
Julie Landry has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to distribute steroids and concealing evidence of a crime and is free on bail. Caddo Parish schools spokeswoman Mary Wood tells The Times of Shreveport that Landry will remain on paid leave until her charges are resolved.
Brant Landry is jailed pending a detention hearing, while Mosura is also free on bail. They are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Mosura is unopposed for re-election on Nov. 6.
