NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tulane University is holding a free conference about black women's health Friday and Saturday. The topic is "Matters of the Heart: Cardiovascular Disease, Health and Healing."
Most sessions of the third Biennial Black Women's Health Conference will be held at Myra Clara Rogers Memorial Chapel, with the keynote luncheon Saturday at the Lavin-Bernick Center.
Organizers ask that people who can register online do so, so they know how many to expect.
The five speakers include the dean of Tulane's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Baton Rouge cardiologist. Speakers also include a California nurse who will conduct a workshop titled "The 'Strong Black Woman Syndrome' and Black Women's Health."
