The trial of a man accused of killing a police officer in Louisiana in 2015 has been delayed again.
The Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office said in a news release that the trial of 31-year-old Grover Cannon has been delayed at the request of defense attorneys.
Cannon is charged in the shooting death of Shreveport police officer Thomas LaValley, who was killed when he responded to a report of a prowler. John Andrew Prime with the district attorney's office said in a news release Cannon's trial has been scheduled to begin Monday.
Prime said defense attorneys requested the delay because of publicity about the unrelated Jan. 9 shooting death of officer Chateri Payne.
Prime said Judge Ramona Emanuel agreed to the delay and did not set a new trial date.
