Ouachita Live- A free outdoor concert series

Downtown West Monroe is hosting a free, outdoor concert series. Ouachita Live began in March and will continue through October. Concerts will be on the last Friday of each month.

Karen Laban, Downtown Revitalization Group Director in West Monroe, said, "We are really excited about bringing different genres of music to the area. So, we try to change it up each month. It's going to be pretty exciting through October."

There will be food and snowball trucks at the event. Various downtown restaurants will provide alcohol for attendees to purchase.

Attendants are encouraged to bring a chair to enjoy the show.

The star of the April concert is Kent Burnside. Burnside will play his hillside county blues set on Friday, April 29.

Adrienne LaFrance-Wells, with the City of West Monroe, said about Burnside, "His Grandfather was the legend, R.L. Burnside. He literally grew up selling sandwiches at his concerts and learning at the feet of his grandfather."

The concert will be at Alley Park from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The concert in May will feature Bible Belt Buckles, a 90's country and dance band. This concert will be on Friday, May 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Alley Park.
