Student ReporterOriginally from Mansfield, Texas, David is a student athlete at the University of Louisiana Monroe. He is a senior communications major, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree. He is also a member of the university's football team and will complete his final year in the fall of 2025.
David graduated from Mansfield High School in 2021, where he was on numerous honor roll lists, and received the school's Principal Award for being the most outstanding student. He also competed in football, basketball, as well as track and field, earning multiple All-District honors. He received multiple scholarship offers but signed with ULM after his senior season.
David is really big on foundation, family, integrity, and service. He enjoys serving the community, participating in activities such as providing Thanksgiving meals to the homeless, and Special Olympics sports events. He hopes to continue to serve others and aims to be an example for people coming behind him.
After graduation, David will pursue a career in sports media through broadcasting, journalism, or radio talk show host. He hopes to be able to share his knowledge of sports with the world but also learn the best ways to interact with his viewers/listeners.
In his free time, David enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, watching movies, playing golf, and working out.

The Monroe Symphony Orchestra present their final Lagniappe Music Series concert, Brahms’ Quintet & Beyond. The concert features a pianist along with a string quartet.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a fundraiser where teams compete in a rowing competition, with all proceeds benefiting the coalition. Parade, food trucks, and a raffle are just a few aspects of the event.

United Way and the Northeast Louisiana Bar foundation host the Heirship Project Part II. The community workshops provide legal assistance, as well as tools for navigating wills and deeds.

Masur Museum presents their yearly Off the Wall fundraiser on April 11. The public can come bid on exclusive arts pieces, as well as enjoy food, drinks, and live music.

The city of Monroe, in accordance with the Keep Louisiana Beautiful initiative, is hosting "Love the Boot Week." Various clean-up activities will take place in order to preserve our local environment.

The Northeast Louisiana Arts Council present Brown Bag Concerts. Every Wednesday in the month of April, a musician will perform in downtown Monroe. The public will enjoy food, cookies, and live music.

The alumni Association at ULM will host their annual Wine Over Water event, where the community can come enjoy wine, food, music, and boat riding. Proceeds will go towards student scholarships.

The Northeast Louisiana Children's Museum will host an Easter Village from April 9th-19th, along with two special events.
