The Autism Society of North Louisiana hosts Autism Acceptance Festival and 5k

The Autism Society of North Louisiana (ASNLA) host the Autism Acceptance Festival and 5K on Saturday, April 15 at at Kiroli Park in West Monroe at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. with the 5k beginning at 8:30 a.m.

ASNLA is a volunteer-led non-profit organization with a mission to empower individuals within the Autism community with the information , resources and support needed for success. The organization is able to invest in the community through leading initiatives such as awareness campaign, information booths, mini grants, and autism diagnosis orientation kits for families.

President Kristen Harris says "It is so important to have an event like this in our community that tailors to families and celebrates acceptance."

The festival includes a variety of activities with 14 booths, inflatable jump houses, slides and a fire truck along with other amusements. Guests can relax in the field adjacent to the event in the center of the park or enjoy the playgrounds provided for children of all ages. An admission fee for the park is required at the park gate. On-site registration is available as well.
