Downtown West Monroe will host its annual "July Celebration!" on Friday, July 5.
Beginning at 11 a.m., local vendors and businesses throughout Antique Alley will be open for shopping.
Throughout the day, local dining establishments will be open for lunch and dinner, accompanied by live music. Food trucks will be available starting at 11 a.m.
Musical entertainment will continue into the evening at Alley Park, where Monty Russell and friends will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.
Families can visit the Kids Zone on Commerce Street from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., offering a range of activities tailored for children.
The July celebration will culminate with a fireworks display over the Ouachita River, scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. and visible from various vantage points in Downtown West Monroe as fireworks will be shot from the Endom Bridge and over the Ouachita River.
Despite a chance of summer pop-up showers, the fireworks will take place rain or shine unless there is extreme rain, winds, or lightning.
Looking ahead, Mayor Staci Mitchell will host 'Walk and Talks' sessions at the West Monroe Sports and Events Complex, starting July 11 and continuing on subsequent Tuesdays in July. These sessions provide an opportunity for residents to engage directly with the mayor and discuss matters pertaining to the community.
On Thursday July 11 the Kiroli Foundation and Choice Brands will present a Whiskey and Spirits Tasting fundraiser event to support the 2024 Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival. The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kiroli Park Lodge. Funds raised from will support the enhancement of festival programming
and entertainment.
