Designed with a New Orleans feel, the family-friendly parade will feature more than 60 units rolling through the Twin Cities. Live music will also be included, with bands such as the Grambling State Tigers and other groups among this year's parade participants.
With 30 throwing floats, the parade's throws and floats are both family- and environmentally friendly. All floats are made using recycled materials, and the Krewe partners with the city of West Monroe to encourage the recycling of unwanted beads and parade items.
90.3 KEDM Public Radio of Monroe is also honored to participate in this year's festivities, as it will broadcast live for the first time from the Northeast Louisiana Music Trail float.
The parade begins at 5 p.m.; however, onlookers are encouraged to arrive early to find available parking and viewing spots due to road closures downtown.
