Wine Over Water will kick off with a Patron Party from 6 pm-7:30 pm. It will take place at the Terrace, on the 7th floor of ULM's library. Patrons will have access to a vast selection of wine, a live jazz band, and be able to mingle with ULM vice presidents and sponsors of the event.
As the Patron Party comes to an end, the Bridge Party will occur from 7 pm-10 pm. The Bridge Party will consist of a live performance by the Cal Presley Band and music by DJ Worm. It will also be emceed by B.j. Bell, the sound of the Grambling Marching Tiger Band.
Attendees will have access to more wine as well as various food vendors at the Bridge Party. The B & L Marine will also be providing boat rides, so the public can enjoy their beverage while taking in the scenery of the bayou.
Sponsors and vendors of this event include Southern Glazers, Marsala Beverage, Restaurant Cotton, Thurman's Food Factory, and many more. In fact, the Northeast Delta Human Services will present a "liquor free zone," which will be a lounge located next to the Cal Presley band in Bayou Park
Medria Buford, the director of alumni affairs at ULM, talks about how the proceeds of the fundraiser will impact future students at the university. "It helps to fund the Spirit of the Warhawk scholarship," Buford says. "We provide scholarships to incoming freshman within Region 8... and it helps to fund their education."
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the gate, but they are also available online. Tickets can also be obtained at the Laird Weems Center. The attire for the event is dressy casual.
