The Northeast Louisiana Arts Council present Brown Bag Concerts, where every Wednesday throughout the month of April, a musical performance will take place at Palace Park in downtown Monroe.
The concert series is completely free to the public, however there will be a charge of $6 for a brown bag lunch from Newk's Eatery which includes a drink. Cookies will also be provided by Mulhearn Funeral Homes.
The lineup for this month's concert series includes Robert Wright, American Idol singer Clara Rae, Josh Madden, Doug Duffey and Dan Sumner, and concludes with The Melters.
Georgia Street, a board member of the Northeast Louisiana Arts council, talks about her excitement of the musical lineup. "We've got the best lineup... I think we have the best of the best," Street claims.
She invites the community to come out, "enjoy the sunshine, and have a 'sound bath' with all these wonderful entertainers from our area."
Each concert will start at noon on each Wednesday. The city of Monroe will provide seating, but the community is welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets.
Concerts will be at Palace Park in downtown Monroe, the corner of Jackson and Desiard street. If weather interferes, the concert will be moved inside the Palace annex.
