Author and motivational speaker Michaela S. Cox empowers the public to thrive

A distinguished author, speaker, and mother; Michaela S. Cox educates her followers on being grounded and how to be equipped for the journey of life. Although she is legally blind, that doesn't deter her vision from empowering the public to be over-comers and triumphant.

The Monroe native uses the term "38DDD." Each letter "D'' reflects a hardship that she has dealt with in her life before she reached the age of 38.

Disability, divorce, and death represent the acronym. Her lifelong disability of legal blindness, divorce at the age of 26, and the death of her beloved husband. She uses these obstacles to teach others on how to go from surviving to thriving.

Cox has authored 15 books, including Ready, Set, GO! Continuing the Journey Through Motherhood, and writes about topics and issues that interest her. She has a series on faith, motherhood, her life story, along with a Finding Grace Through Grief series.

Cox is a mother and has also written personal stories for her two children. They include pieces of her life story, and knowledge she wants them to carry throughout their journey of life.

Being legally blind comes with a fair share of burdens, but Michaela never used that as an excuse. "I've never wanted to be defined by my circumstances... I wanted to define it for myself," Cox declares.

She talks about how she still lives a normal life but just has to make some minor adjustments. "If you can't move the mountain, you find ways around it, under it, over it."

Responding to adversity, finding grace during grief, and discovering a direction for your life after grief are just a few of the things she teaches. Her life story is truly encouraging and will be instrumental in helping people deal with issues in their life.

Cox will continue her quest forward, and continue to uplift, inspire, and ignite us all to not let negative situations define our reality.
