Political newcomer Heath Albritton sees persistent water quality issues as a top priority in his campaign for House District 17.
Albritton wants greater attention given to the water problems. It was a major factor in his jumping into the election. "I've been fighting for cleaner water in the district for about a year now. We felt someone needed to step up, so I decided to do that," he said.
Albritton also notes he wants the legislature to reduce spending. He says just as taxpayers have to work within a budget and balance a checkbook, lawmakers should do the same when it comes to getting the state's financial woes turned around.
