Sen. Mike Walsworth is seeking re-election to represent District 33.
Walsworth points to economic development and job growth during his time in office. He hopes to facilitate more projects in the area.
The West Monroe real estate broker believes tax credits will undergo more scrutiny as the state faces tough financial times. "We've got about $8 billion in tax credits we're going to have to go back and look and see what might be available there," he said.
Walsworth says the state needs to continue to push towards technology in education. "The STEM programs are probably going to be a game changer for northeast Louisiana. With IBM and CenturyLink, we are now poised to have a technology corridor along I-20."
