Join Louisiana State Parks for annual nationwide event geared toward to appreciation and preservation of local public parks and outdoor recreation

The Louisiana Master Naturalists hosts a bird observation hike on May 14.

Friends of Black Bayou and Louisiana Master Naturalists Northeast will hold two free Earth Day herp walks at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge Saturday, April 23.

The 1.5-mile hike will take visitors through a portion of the earthworks with a focus on useful native plants. The ranger-led hike will give people the opportunity to learn about plants the Native Americans would have eaten and used thousands of years ago. The hike begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 at Poverty Point World Heritage Site in Pioneer, Louisiana.

Visitors of Poverty Point World Heritage Site are invited to take part in a ranger-led hike on Saturday, March 5, showcasing the mounds, earthworks, and nature found in the park.
